Pounds or Points?

Hey guys! I'm so excited that there's this many people already interested. Some people have brought up concerns though about it being a straight up whoever loses the most weight wins competition. Since all of you want to participate already I wouldn't want to just switch it up on you, so I've come up with two different plans on how this competition could be run and I'd like your input.

Plan One:

Whoever largest percentage of their body weight wins.

Plan Two:

Whoever gets the most points in a month wins.

You would get:

.5 point for each day you eat within your calorie limit
.5 point for each day you exercise
1 point for each pound lose (up to 2 points a week)

With this plan I would just have everyone post how many points they got in each category each day.

So I'd love to hear which way you want this competition to go.

Also, feel free to post in the community about anything on topic both before and during the competition :]

i like body percentage best. i don't plan on losing more than 2 lbs per week for a competition on the internet, but it would still give me the motivation to try for those 2 pounds. know what i mean?

i'm loving plan 2. however, i don't know if you'd make exceptions for those of us who don't eat based on a calorie diet?

I am planning to do a calorie based diet, but I do think this is a damn fine point ;)

I like the points calculations, though do I think inches are almost as important as the scale measurement. Maybe there is a way to add inches into the points as well?


As for the pounds lost, I think it could be something more like
1 point for losing 1-2 pounds that week
2 points for losing 3-4 pounds, etc, etc..

I think this may be more fair, for people who are more overweight who may not be able to work out EVERY day, but may have a greater loss, and would receive less points for less workouts.

From being in dietingsupport, I have not seen that there are too many people who have the amount of weight to lose that I do. While there are a lot of posts, I haven't seen too many people who are looking to lose more than 30 or 40 pounds, where I am looking to lose 80. I have seen some, and I may have missed some posts, due to the community being so busy, and my personal slacking, but it is a thought :)

I like both plans (maybe #2 most, but still..) can't we have two winners every month?

Anyway, is it gonna be friends only? at least the "weight-in" entry? Paranoid girl over here *waves* :)
